Description
Two-way VHF radiotelephone built to the GMDSS requirement for survival craft communication — the apparatus crews use to talk between the survival craft, the ship and the rescue boat. Under SOLAS Chapter III Regulation 6 (1983 amendment), every cargo ship of 500 gross tons or more carries at least three of these sets, and the GMDSS requirements (1988 amendment) call for a watertight model. The design also guards against accidentally selecting VHF channel 16 on equipment that can work that frequency.
- Frequency range: VHF 156.750–156.850 MHz
- Size: 165 × 64 × 45.5 mm
- Weight: 600 g
- Compliance: Two-way VHF radiotelephone conforming to GMDSS
- Unit: Per piece
