Regulatory context: 46 CFR 199.175 Table 1 requires 1 fishing kit per lifeboat and per rigid liferaft (SOLAS A pack) on international voyages; 46 CFR 160.151-21(q) requires fishing tackle in SOLAS A / SOLAS B inflatable liferafts to meet 46 CFR 199.175(b)(11). IMO LSA Code 4.1.5.1.17 (liferafts) & 4.4.8.26 (lifeboats): one set of fishing tackle. Fishing tackle is required in the SOLAS A pack; not required in the SOLAS B pack. Confirm carriage requirements with the vessel’s flag Administration.
